Re:Storying Education, a core initiative of Love Our City, is our long-term commitment to renewing the story of education in South Africa by supporting the people who carry it.

We believe that when teachers, students, families, and community partners are connected, dignified, and resourced, the whole system shifts. Through three focus areas - Re:Story Legacy, Re:Story Futures, and Re:Story Together - we work alongside schools to bridge divides, strengthen relationships, and create environments where learning can flourish. Re:Storying Education is ultimately about restoring hope, dignity, and possibility in our schools.

Our History

Love Our City was born out of a simple conviction shared on the NCCB campus: that justice is not an abstract idea, but something lived out through ordinary people choosing to serve their city with humility and compassion.

What began as small acts of care within our immediate community grew into an intentional expression of kingdom justice - practical and deeply relational.

As the work expanded, it took shape through practical projects that responded to real needs in our neighbouring schools and communities. These included maintaining classrooms, creating mobile libraries, providing school supplies, assembling reusable sanitary-pad kits, and creating regular opportunities for volunteers to serve.

Over time, this work revealed how much stronger schools become when relationships, resources, and support are shared. This understanding led to the formation of Re:Storying Education — a long-term effort to bring school leaders, teachers, partners, and the community together to strengthen education through connection, shared learning, and practical solutions.
