Sustaining and empowering teachers, the everyday nation-builders shaping South Africa’s future from the classroom.
By combining wellness and practical support, it helps educators renew their sense of calling and find fresh strength for the classroom. Re:Story Legacy invests in teachers’ wellbeing and growth so they can lead with confidence, inspire curiosity in their learners, and build thriving classrooms that drive lasting change in schools and communities.
Re:Story Legacy, launching in 2026, will take shape through quarterly gatherings designed to support and strengthen teachers in the areas that matter most to their wellbeing.
A teacher wellness survey, conducted in partnership with the Greenlight Movement, will form the foundation of this work, giving us a clear picture of the real pressures teachers face and the support they need.
These insights will guide a range of practical and wellbeing-focused interventions, which may include financial literacy workshops, journaling and emotional wellness sessions, trauma-informed tools, stress management and burnout prevention, peer-support circles, and classroom or resource assistance where needed. Additional interventions may include a Teacher’s Toolkit to help educators access support resources easily, as well as a teaching partnership where teachers from well-resourced schools volunteer their time and expertise to strengthen under-resourced classrooms. Each intervention is designed to help teachers grow in resilience and confidence so they can continue shaping classrooms and communities with hope.
